This is an exciting opportunity with a major environmental and engineering consultancy, to make a difference as part of a growing team focusing on opportunities and services associated with renewable energy, whilst supporting the technical development of less experienced colleagues and building up the team.With a sound understanding of GB transmission / distribution networks and wind turbine electrical design (as well as other renewable and conventional generation technologies), you will offer technical direction on HV system design, supporting project delivery, business development, service development, preparation of proposals, and staff management.
The successful applicant will offer significant experience of all aspects of HV (up to 132 kV) distribution systems together with a working knowledge of technical and regulatory aspects of electrical grid integration of renewable energy projects. This should include negotiation of connections with DNOs, equipment specification, power system studies and power system protection. Wind farm, GB Transmission System and GB Grid Code experience would also be advantageous. An Electrical Engineering degree-level qualification is essential.
