Carbon Management - Sales Executive

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proven sales consultant who has prior exposure to the carbon management market.Working with a specialist carbon management start-up that provides carbon accountancy software as well as carbon management consultancy advice, primarily to international companies, FTSE 100/250 businesses and public sector clients, you will play an integral part in helping the organisation grow their UK and global customer base.

You will be teamed up with the executive team and consultants as part of a coordinated account team selling approach. Responsibilities include generating new business in a new market, playing a key role in creating demand for enterprise-wide carbon accounting initiatives within potential clients.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Managing complex sales-cycles and presenting to senior level executives the value in a suite of applications
- Forecasting sales activity and revenue achievement, while creating satisfied and referenceable customers
- Demonstrating the product via the Web and presenting during face-to-face sales activities
- Supporting the senior management team in negotiating contracts.
- Participating in marketing efforts at trade shows and conferences.
- Developing an up-to-date knowledge of the characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of the software offering.
- Continuing to develop a good knowledge of the enterprise carbon accounting market; demand, competition and prices.
- Maintaining up-to-date information on all customer interactions in the CRM system

Degree qualified, ideal candidates should possess solid business-to-business sales and account management experience. Your skill set will include a solid sales forecasting abilities and revenue achievement, while building satisfied, loyal and referenceable customers.

In addition you should have:
- Background in outbound prospecting and closing of new business
- Consistent overachievement of targets and revenue goals
- 1.5 years + experience in carbon sector sales and account management experience.
- Experience selling business applications is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable knowledge of key ROI and TCO principles used in financial consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience managing the sales cycle from sustainability managers to the CEO/CFO level.
- Consistent on target earnings in past 3 years with targets in excess of 1M target desirable.
- Track record of over-achieving targets in past positions
- Experience managing and closing complex sales-cycles
- Ability to work in a fast pace, team environment
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Salesforce
- Knowledge of carbon and environmental markets is essential
- Experience in a start-up or entrepreneurial environment would be an advantage
